City officials announced that Longview will restart swim lessons at Ingram Pool on July 7 after a five-year pause caused by COVID and staffing issues — classes are designed for young children with small groups offered in two sessions.

Gregg County’s plan to add two public access points to the Sabine River at Texas 42 and FM 2087 has stalled after a 25% grant match and delayed Sabine River Authority board meeting halted its progress — Commissioner Ray Bostick said the county is still working on the project with a consultant and will seek funding in the next grant cycle.
Former congressman Beto O’Rourke held a town hall meeting at the Holiday Inn Ballroom in Tyler on Sunday where nearly 900 East Texans shared worries about a proposed water sale that may lower local supplies—he also addressed concerns about rural hospital closures and plans to host more meetings to answer community questions.
