- ➤ Local churches in town are hosting Christmas Eve services with events such as a 4 p.m. service at Fellowship Bible Church and a 6 p.m. service at First Presbyterian Church (Alpine campus). Other services are available in Marshall, White Oak, and nearby towns. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Longview native Nathaniel Moss was one of 11 soldiers killed by Nazi troops during WWII, and historian Kip Price is asking local East Texas residents for any photos+documents that can help honor these heroes. Longview News-Journal
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Longview’s Westlake facility remains open as the company closes plants in Aberdeen and Lake Charles this month—affecting 295 jobs—and continues producing polyethylene and Epolene with 205 workers on site. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ LeTourneau volleyball players were honored for their academic and athletic achievements when the CSC Academic All-District team announced its selections on Tuesday. Seniors Aubree McCann and Emma Smith, along with juniors Nora Lockhart and Maddy Hirneise, showcased strong performances in class and on the court. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ The Spring Hill Panthers received their championship rings Tuesday during halftime at Panther Gymnasium after winning their first state title in Round Rock in June. The team has a 35-7 record and an undefeated 14-0 run in District 16-4A play. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Longview High School head coach John King will be inducted into the THSCA Hall of Honor on Saturday, July 18 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston; tickets go on sale in March. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Tuesday West Rusk Raiders beat Elkhart 51-46 with Sipes, Brown, and McGregor combining for 37 points and will face Cumberland Academy Friday. Overton Mustangs won 48-35 over Union Grove and head to Troup for a JV game, while Hawkins secured a 66-44 win over Sabine. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ The Longview Lobos defeated the Center Roughriders 64-39 on Tuesday at Lobo Coliseum, with Jayden Tyeski scoring 18 points and Jacorrian Stevenson 16. They improved their record to 14-2 and will face Lindale on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Longview News-Journal
