- ➤ The annual Longview AMBUCS Christmas Parade will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. along Whaley and Methvin streets—road closures for eight blocks begin at 5:30 p.m. and officials will announce by 3 p.m. today if weather forces the parade to be rescheduled to Dec. 9. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ The Oil Palace in Tyler, an iconic venue with 44 acres and seating for 7,000 to 9,000, is on the market for $6.9M and still has its original operating equipment from a 2018 renovation. In August, Newtek Small Business Finance filed to change trustees because current occupants did not meet prior obligations—interested buyers should contact Staples Commercial Group. KETK

- ➤ The East Texas State Fair earned third place in the IAFE Agricultural Awards for its Ag Education Initiative that offers free school tours and a hands-on AgVenture exhibit to local students. More than 1,200 students from Tyler ISD, Chapel Hill ISD, and Whitehouse ISD participated in interactive lessons—officials will expand these learning opportunities at the 2026 fair. KETK
- ➤ LeTourneau men’s soccer senior Diego Enriquez earned his second CSC Academic All-District honor after starting all 19 matches this season—four women players including Clarissa Martinez, Chanel Kemball-Cook, Natalie Alvarado and Sarah Wyatt also received recognition for their academic and on-field contributions. The awards honor those meeting the 3.50 GPA and game-time criteria required for the selection. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ Drivers are urged to avoid the overpass at N. Eastman Road and E. Loop 281 — all lanes are blocked and the Texas Department of Transportation is on scene treating the roadways; use alternate routes until further notice. City of Longview

- ➤ The Overton Mustangs opened their season Tuesday with a 66—19 win over Longview Christian Heritage as Brody Brown scored 14 points and Christian Hall added 12. The West Rusk Raiders secured their first win by beating Eustace 61—33—Kam Brown led with 20 points and the Raiders improved to a 1—2 record. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ The Kilgore College Lady Rangers split their weekend in Plano at the Collin County Classic by losing 86-82 in overtime to South Plains and defeating Collin County 78-75, building up leads through three quarters and outscoring the host team at the end — they are 6-4 on the year and will host Arlington Baptist University’s JV team Saturday at 2 p.m. in non-conference play. - ➤ High school football fans can now buy tickets for the UIL Football State Championships at AT&T Stadium in Arlington as part of Texas' big sports tradition, with one ticket granting access to every game on each championship day from Dec. 17 to Dec. 20. Tickets cost 20 dollars and fees apply, and East Texas teams still in the title hunt include Kilgore, Carthage, Athens, Arp, Joaquin, San Augustine, Mount Enterprise and Union Hill (tickets are sold exclusively on SeatGeek). - ➤ Hallsville High School held a ceremony Monday to honor MLB relief pitcher Justin Slaten—2016 graduate who plays for the Boston Red Sox—by hanging his jersey in the school’s auxiliary gym.
