- ➤ Becca Barron opened Thousand Cranes Gallery in downtown Longview on Tyler Street this year to display her folded crane art and works by more than 20 local and regional artists—her project began as a wish for her grandmother and now invites visitors to join a community canvass by folding cranes to share well wishes. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ The Longview Symphony Orchestra will host its annual Home for the Holidays concert on Dec. 5 at LeTourneau University Belcher Center—doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Special guest performers include the Longview High School Choir, Greater Longview Children’s Choir and Santa Flavious while the Foster Middle School Choir and the jazz and blues duo McHam and Shepherd will perform in the lobby. - ➤ A Longview couple, Steven and Emma Ball, invited visitors to view a Nativity diorama at their home at 804 E. Young St.—a display they have maintained since 2021 to share the story of Christ’s birth and life. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ Fort Bend Crawford Chargers beat the Pirates 48—10 on Friday in a Class 4A playoff game at Groesbeck Stadium—quarterback Braylen Fisher threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns while Alvin Mosley scored on the ground and in the air, ending Pine Tree’s season at 8—5. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ E.J. Mowery led the Union Hill Bulldogs to an 82-32 victory over Aquilla in the Six Man playoffs on Friday as he reached over 10,000 career yards and accounted for 11 touchdowns—he threw four, caught one and rushed for five scores. The Bulldogs will face Gordon at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 in Ennis. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Arp defeated Edgewood 49—28 in the Class 3A Division II Region III semifinal as a lightning delay paused play for over three hours at Van Memorial Stadium. Josh Smith led Arp with 278 rushing yards and six touchdowns, and the Tigers now prepare to face Newton on Dec 5 at Abe Martin Stadium. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ San Augustine held a 43-33 win over the Beckville Bearcats in a Class 2A Division I regional semifinal game on Friday at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler—using a late field goal to secure the win. The Wolves will meet Joaquin next week while Beckville ended its season at 9-4. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Kilgore’s defense shut out Bridge City 34-0 at Randall Reed Stadium on Friday—this win moves the Bulldogs to face Fort Bend Crawford at 7 p.m. Friday in Huntsville. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Kilgore defeated Bridge City 34-0 in a Class 4A playoff game at Randall Reed Stadium on November 29 as strong defense and effective offense kept Bridge City scoreless. The Bulldogs, holding a 12-1 record, will play Fort Bend Crawford at 7 p.m. Friday in Huntsville—boosting their playoff momentum. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ Joaquin beat Elysian Fields 74-21 in the regional semifinals on Friday in Tatum — the win advanced Joaquin to the regional finals and ended Elysian Fields' season at 11-2. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Kaegan Ash and Joshua Bennett helped the undefeated Mt. Enterprise Wildcats (13-0) win 74-46 over the Overton Mustangs Friday with 10 rushing touchdowns and 578 yards between them, and the team will face Bremond next week in the regional final. The strong ground game carried the Wildcats to a comfortable lead in the first half before Overton's efforts could close the gap. Longview News-Journal
