  • Texas Cafe will offer free meals and blessing bags for the homeless from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day (at 3090 N. Eastman Road). Councilman Wray Wade (District 3) will host his community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Broughton Recreation Center.  Longview News-Journal
  • On Wednesday afternoon, Debra Ward rang her bell outside Walmart on Estes Parkway in Longview to support the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign that helped fund local homeless shelters, disaster relief and holiday aid. Ward, who has bell-ranged since 2018, said she enjoyed greeting shoppers — her work boosted community spirit and provided modest income.  Longview News-Journal
