- ➤ State Rep. Jay Dean is asking residents for help bringing home Caden Hawkins — a 22-year-old Hallsville man held in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico since March after his GPS misdirected him while he worked on an oil field near the border. His family has been forced to pay over $1,000 a week for basic needs, and Dean urges locals to contact federal and state officials to bring Hawkins home by Christmas. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ Kilgore College freshman kicker Gwonwu Choi earned First Team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference honors as he converted 8 of 10 field goal attempts + 36 of 37 extra point tries. Other Kilgore players were named to second-team and honorable mention nods on the conference all-star teams. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ LeTourneau’s women’s basketball team fell 76-59 to the Rhodes Lynx on Tuesday at Mallory Gymnasium—Robbi Martinez scored a career-high 13 points as the YellowJackets dropped to 1-4. The team will play Centenary on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Solheim Arena. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Spring Hill’s Savannah Irwin and Pine Tree’s Carly Chadwick shared MVP honors for District 16-4A volleyball as district coaches voted—Irwin posted 529 digs to help her team reach the state semifinals. Chadwick led her team to a 27-15 record—other awards were given to top players from Carthage, Pine Tree and other schools. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Longview senior Triniti Jackson earned Outstanding Setter honors on the District 10-6A All-District Volleyball Team and recorded 702 assists, 401 kills and 313 digs during the season plus Landry Tubb was named to the first team while Jaharia Hunter and N’Kheyli Johnson made the second team. Three other Longview players received honorable mention after district coaches cast their votes. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ On Tuesday, November 25 at Lobo Coliseum, the Longview Lady Lobos beat the Terrell Lady Tigers 83-37 with Bethany Baltes scoring 25 points by making eight 3-pointers — her performance helped the team improve to 9-0. The Lady Lobos will visit Winnsboro on Dec. 2 and host Martin’s Mill on Dec. 5. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Texas quarterback Arch Manning won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week after he set records—he threw for 389 yards and six touchdowns—in the 52-37 win over Arkansas on November 25. He became the first Longhorn to score a touchdown by throwing, running and catching in a game since Bobby Layne did it on January 1, 1946. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Kilgore Lady Bulldogs beat Shelbyville 48–41 with Serenity Oliver scoring 24 points and Hughes Springs rallied from a 37–29 deficit to win 40–39 over Sabine. In boys games, Brownsboro edged Sabine 69–67 and on Monday, Mineola defeated West Rusk 75–66 with Zane Phillips scoring 25 — West Rusk will compete in a tournament match Saturday at 5 p.m. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ The Longview Lobos won 62-55 against the Dragons on Tuesday at Lobo Coliseum and kept their unbeaten 5-0 record as King-Kirkendoff led in the first half while Liebengood scored all his 16 points in the second half. The Dragons fell to a 6-2 record after the game. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ In Monday's high school basketball games, the Longview Lobos won 55-41 over Whitehouse with Campbell Liebengood scoring 23 points and Jayden Tyeski adding 19—helping the team open with a 20-5 first quarter lead. Other teams including Canton, Tatum and Overton also posted wins as players recorded key assists and steals across both boys and girls contests. Longview News-Journal
