ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Texas Tribune will host an event on October 8 at the Longview Community Center from 7 to 8 p.m.—it will address Texas’ water crisis and local disputes over proposals like the reservoir project.  Longview News-Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Friday’s ET Football Week 4 games saw Jefferson edge Pittsburg 32-29 as Chance Washington threw four touchdowns—other matchups, including wins for Sunnyvale and West Rusk, featured late runs and close finishes.   • In week 4 primetime games, Longview’s Johnny Hamilton threw 7 of 14 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown while his team lost and Lawson Tubb recorded 15 tackles.
