- ➤ Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd asked Texas Rangers to investigate more than $100,000 missing from the Union Grove Water Supply Corp after board members said an employee embezzled funds from Gladewater — he also advised customers not to pay in cash and to review their records for any payment mismatches. - ➤ Kilgore College celebrated 90 years of education Monday morning with a ceremony on the pedestrian bridge where faculty, students and community members gathered to mark the milestone. Past college presidents and mayor Ronnie Spradlin recalled the school’s deep community ties and shared plans for future growth as enrollment nears 8,000. KETK

- ➤ Longview City Council approved a $4.3 million plan that will replace the old ozone generator at Lake O’ the Pines Water Treatment Plant for nearly $3 million, fix sewer lines on Melba, Jonquil, 13th and Malddon Drives for $500,000, and add automated lighting and gate access control at Lear and Spring Hill parks for $600,000 — the plan also uses $200,000 from a sales tax for drainage improvements at 1709 Wellington Lane, all paid for with funds outside the city’s main budget. - ➤ On Saturday, Kilgore College softball lost 8-6 to Lady Patriots-Potter and tied 13-13 with Texas Strike Force-Martin at KC Commons—marking a challenging fall start. The team will visit Louisiana Christian for games at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.—seeking a strong comeback on Friday. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ LeTourneau women’s soccer won a 4—0 game over LaGrange Panthers on Saturday afternoon, earning their fifth straight shutout with key goals by Chanel Kemball-Cook and Lana Whiteman. They will face Howard Payne on Tuesday at 6 p.m. as they try to extend their winning run. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Week 3 football games saw many players deliver strong performances that led to big wins and solid defensive plays—Rayshaun Williams of Kilgore rushed 16 times for 181 yards with three touchdowns in a 66-6 victory, and other teams posted key stats across the region. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ East Texas Baptist University posted a 28-0 shutout win over Oklahoma Panhandle State at Ornelas Stadium — the first shutout there in 23 years — and improved to 2-0 on the year. Dominick Williams recorded four sacks while Paul Woodard rushed for 134 yards in a balanced game. Longview News-Journal
