- ➤ Eastman Chemical Co.'s fall turnaround is bringing over 1,300 contractor workers from 25-30 companies to Longview for a nine to ten week maintenance project that aims to improve safety, reliability and growth at the facility. The city warns motorists to allow extra time during shift changes (5:30 to 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.) due to heavier traffic near key intersections. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ A man pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter after fatally striking a pedestrian on Feb. 24, 2024 in the 500 block of West Hope Drive in Longview and was sentenced to 40 years in prison—he had been driving drunk when he hit a vehicle and the victim later died at a local hospital. KETK

- ➤ LeTourneau goalkeeper Kinsey Fulks from Frisco was named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week after earning shutouts in two games, while volleyball junior Maddy Hirneise from Hickory Creek received the same honor after recording 78 digs in three matches.
