  • Developer Anup Patel will expand The Residences at Toler by adding 96 new apartment units at 1900 Toler Road—near Subway and McWhorter Park—as soon as permits are received, with work expected to be complete by next year, and he is also building a 12-unit complex on Village Drive and a single-family home project in Spring Hill with first sales in 2026. Downtown, old buildings on Brown and Tyler Streets are being renovated for new retail or office space.  Longview News-Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Northeast Texas Chapter of the Native Plant Society celebrated 30 years on September 7 at Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, where members met to hear speakers, swap plants, and plan a spring plant sale. Chapter President Belinda McLaughlin said native plants grow with common-sense care and help prevent imported diseases — a way to work with nature.  Longview News-Journal
