Good morning, Longview.
🎭 Culture
Longview World of Wonders launched a $2.4 million capital campaign yesterday to update the children’s discovery museum in downtown with new interactive exhibits & hands-on play spaces.
The first phase was fully funded with $732,000 and announced at the museum’s 10th anniversary celebration.
Dr. Bill Bussey received his long-lost first hot air balloon, the Texas Turkey, during Bear Creek Smokehouse’s BBQ and Balloons event in Marshall Saturday night.
The storied balloon, which he bought in 1979 (and thought was lost forever), brought back cherished memories of his long career in ballooning.
🏈 Sports
Local high schools staged strong football games across the region last week, with key players scoring big.
Hamilton completed 6 of 7 passes for 146 yards and 4 touchdowns in a win over Marshall, while others across teams (including Pine Tree) made standout plays with tackles, touchdowns, and returns.
