GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Municipal Court will resume holding court sessions and jury trials in the Municipal Annex Building at 302 W. Cotton Street beginning Sept. 2 (payment for fines and tickets will temporarily be handled at the Roy Stone Training Center next door). City of Longview
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Longview High School tennis team lost to Rockwall 10-4 on Tuesday in District 10-6A play — the Lobos have a 5-8 record and will host Forney at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Today, Hallsville and Lindale open the 2025 football season at 7 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium in Hallsville — both teams rely on key players from last season as they aim for a strong start. Other Thursday matchups include Tatum versus Winnsboro, Gladewater versus Daingerfield, Waskom versus Garrison, and Texas High against Tyler Legacy, with Nacogdoches set to face Palestine on Friday.
