- ➤ A 22-year-old Longview man was arrested on Wednesday after a robbery at a local dollar store—he was found with illegal drugs, charged with possession of a controlled substance, and booked with a $310,000 bond. KETK
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday, the Longview City Council voted to appoint Greg Grimes as the new fire chief after the former chief retired. Grimes brings over 25 years of fire service experience from his role with the Allen Fire Department and is set to lead the department, City Manager Robin McPhee said. KETK
- ➤ Governor Greg Abbott said today that Texas National Guard troops are on standby in several areas to help keep peace during planned protests against federal deportation raids—troops have already been sent to San Antonio and a protest is scheduled for Saturday at On the Border in Longview.
