Lakeport held a grand opening on Saturday at 207 Milam Road next to the government building off Estes Parkway—this new park cost nearly half a million dollars and offers a walking trail, play structure, picnic tables, and exercise areas after six years of planning led by a county survey.

Eastman Chemical said it will keep working on a nearly $1.2b plastics recycling plant near Longview despite losing a $375m federal grant—company leaders expect the project will create around 1,000 temporary jobs and 200 permanent jobs.

They added that the new plant will use a fresh method to recycle plastic waste and help boost local growth.
