- ➤ Longview police responded Tuesday night on the 2900 block of McCann Road at about 11:49 p.m. after a suspect fired rounds at officers+ an officer returned fire and performed life-saving measures before the suspect was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and DPS Texas Rangers now lead the investigation. - ➤ Five Pine Tree ISD students were selected as winners in Keep Longview Beautiful’s City Sanitation Art Truck contest— their artwork themed 'A Less Littered Longview' will be featured on city sanitation trucks to promote a cleaner community. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ The Longview library will host its Summer Reading Club Kickoff Party on June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Eastman Plaza with free activities—games, dancing and bounce houses—and a sign-up for summer reading events that will start on June 9. City of Longview
