- ➤ Overton ISD recognized senior drum major Kyra Parker on Tuesday, May 26 during a special college band ceremony; she will join the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band at Texas A&M this fall and earned the prestigious Sul Ross Scholarship. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ Data from the Texas Education Agency shows statewide public school enrollment declined by 76,000 from 2024‑25 to 2025‑26 while the Longview region lost only 270 students. - ➤ White Oak’s Kylie Caraway earned MVP honors as part of the District 16-3A All-District Softball Team selections announced Tuesday, May 26. - ➤ LeTourneau’s Kinley Pessel earned WGCA All-Region honors after a record season with five wins and seven top finishes — the first accolade for a YellowJacket golfer since 2011.
