- ➤ Overton ISD recognized senior drum major Kyra Parker on Tuesday, May 26 during a special college band ceremony; she will join the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band at Texas A&M this fall and earned the prestigious Sul Ross Scholarship. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ Data from the Texas Education Agency shows statewide public school enrollment declined by 76,000 from 2024‑25 to 2025‑26 while the Longview region lost only 270 students. Longview ISD dropped by 215 students (a modest decrease compared to urban districts) as officials track trends for future funding. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ LeTourneau baseball senior reliever Cruz Cox from Longview was named to the ABCA All-Region X third team on Tuesday. - ➤ Former Longview High School soccer standout Kelsi Weeks has been named the NJCAA Director of Sport Operations and Championships, bringing over a decade of leadership experience from roles at Indian Hills Community College and Tyler Junior College (she also played as an NJCAA student-athlete). - ➤ White Oak’s Kylie Caraway earned MVP honors as part of the District 16-3A All-District Softball Team selections announced Tuesday, May 26. Coaches awarded superlatives to players from White Oak, Arp, West Rusk, Gladewater and Tatum after a season in which the Ladynecks posted a 33-7 record. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ LeTourneau’s Kinley Pessel earned WGCA All-Region honors after a record season with five wins and seven top finishes — the first accolade for a YellowJacket golfer since 2011.
