- ➤ Teague Park will host a Memorial Day service at Veterans Memorial Plaza on May 26 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to honor veterans, and Kevin Marshall (USN, Ret) will lead the ceremony that will include prayers, color posting, a wreath-laying, a 21-gun salute, and the playing of TAPS. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On May 20th, the Longview Public Library hosted an AI session led by LeTourneau University professor Dr. Kenneth Rouse where about a dozen community members learned what artificial intelligence is and how to keep it safe. Attendee Sandra Lauderdale said she came to learn more about the technology—she sees it as a useful tool that should be handled with care—while the talk covered both its benefits and concerns. - ➤ KETK News won the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for sports reporting for its Hometown Heeler story that followed a Cherokee County family's 13 year old roper who grew up to be a professional cowboy now ranked 6th worldwide. The award, given by the Radio Television Digital News Association on May 21, honors strong local journalism—marking a significant achievement in sports reporting. KETK
