- ➤ Club members celebrated the Pilot Club of Longview's 75th anniversary on May 15 at the Longview Community Center—highlighting decades of fundraisers that have supported programs such as Unforgettable Tuesdays for Alzheimer’s families and brain health initiatives. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Galilee Baptist Church in Hallsville will celebrate its 135th anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. with a 'Revitalizing God’s Church' service that welcomes past and present members — the church, which has 75 to 100 members, supports community events like back-to-school programs and food pantries — as it hopes to grow its fellowship after the pandemic. - ➤ Kilgore High School honored its top 10 seniors of the class of 2025 at a recent school board meeting where Principal Marcus Camp presented plaques based on grade point averages. The graduating class will hold its commencement ceremony on May 23 at 8 p.m. at R.E. St. John Stadium + the honorees received formal congratulations at the meeting. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin State University have teamed up to form the Lumberjack Transfer Alliance— a co-admission pathway that allows eligible KC students to co-enroll at SFA in Nacogdoches while finishing their associate degrees. The agreement offers benefits including automatic SFA admission, increased transferable hours, co-advising and a transfer stipend to support a smooth transition to a four-year degree.
