COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Two city sanitation trucks showcased student artwork chosen from hundreds of submissions by Foster Middle and Hudson PEP Elementary schools as part of Longview's Art Trucks program. The vinyl wraps were installed on Monday, May 5th at Longview ISD campuses & will remain for at least three to five years.  Longview News-Journal

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The National Weather Service confirmed an EF0 tornado caused significant damage in Frankston and injured one person; local tree services—Chico’s Lawn Service—and community groups are working with city officials to begin cleanup and assist affected residents.  KETK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Gregg County parking facility in downtown Longview advanced in construction Tuesday when a large crane dismantled the smaller crane used earlier—contractors have begun work on the interior for parking and county offices. County Judge Bill Stoudt said the facility is expected to open in October to help ease parking shortages.  Longview News-Journal
