- ➤ The Moto X-Treme Circus show will be held at the Longview Rodeo Arena on Saturday, May 2nd — it will mix action sports with thrilling circus acts to engage local fans. City of Longview
- ➤ Former students, faculty and community members will gather at 11 a.m. on May 3 at 8507 Toad Road to dedicate an official Texas historical marker that preserves the history of Bethlehem Colored School. A funeral for a former student will be held at 1 p.m. at a nearby church—adding a solemn note to the day. Longview News-Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Chelsea Rocha, a senior at Kilgore High School, made history last week by becoming the only female welder to qualify twice for the state welding competition after winning a local contest at Silsbee High School (a notable first). She will compete on May 2 at Texas State Technical College as her coach Bubba Smith (from Kilgore ISD) said her win opens doors for young women in skilled trades. KETK

- ➤ Longview residents will no longer receive EMS bills as the city has outsourced billing to Emergicon—approved by the city council in a 5‑2 vote—shifting bills to private insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid while 758 ambulance subscription members are set to receive refunds once details are finalized.
