- ➤ City of Longview is now accepting applications for its free Longview In View program that gives residents a close look at city departments. The program runs with 10 sessions held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday each month from June to October — participants must be 18 or older and attend at least 8 sessions. - ➤ At a forum held Monday by the Longview Chamber of Commerce, District 5 incumbent Michelle Gamboa and challenger Jody Berryhill outlined their plans—Gamboa promised using tax dollars for safety upgrades, road repairs, and fire fleet improvements while Berryhill focused on finishing bond projects and attracting new businesses. - ➤ Between April 4 and 11, the City of Longview issued permits for commercial, new residential, and development projects that covered electric, mechanical, and water/sewer work from companies like Jerger Electric and Boyce Electric.
