- ➤ Goodwill Industries of East Texas in Longview is hiring an Assistant Manager, paying $13.00–$15.60 per hour to educate customers about its mission, meet store production requirements, and supervise staff. The job requires a high school diploma or GED, Microsoft Office skills, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, with bilingual skills considered a plus. KETK
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A group led by Steve Lowe is working to build a Texas state veterans cemetery in East Texas to offer local veterans closer final resting places. They have gathered more than 5,123 petition signatures and received strong support from state officials as the donated 64-acre property near Hallsville is under review (evaluation will conclude in April). - ➤ Longview Municipal Court is closing its offices today for renovations—payments for fines or tickets will be accepted at the Roy Stone Training Center at 302 W. Cotton St. Court hearings will resume the week of April 14 at the Longview Public Library at 222 W. Cotton St. KETK
- ➤ Longview officials said a fee change program at Broughton and Paula Martin Jones Recreation Centers boosted visits and memberships in its first month as youth now access the centers for free and adult rates dropped. John Albertson reported that daily visits rose by 91% at one center—and total memberships increased by 48%—after the new policy ended its pilot run in March. Longview News-Journal
