- ➤ Concord Manor, the last group home run by Community Healthcore for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, closed on March 18 and its 10 residents were moved to other care settings. The closure shows ongoing struggles with staffing shortages and low funding in Texas and lawmakers are considering proposals to raise pay for direct care workers—aimed at improving support for vulnerable locals. - ➤ The American Legion Post No. 140 in Longview is restarting a banner program to honor military families by giving Blue Star Banners to those with active-duty members and Gold Star Banners to those who lost a loved one. Post adjutant Thad Nehrling said he is buying more banners and decals and that residents can call 903-424-1475 for free items—helping show respect for local service. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ Today, Sabine High School Wind Ensemble earned all 1's from six judges at its Gilmer concert & sight reading competition, winning a Sweepstake trophy.
