- ➤ Eastman Chemical Co. received a $375M federal grant last year to build a molecular recycling plant just outside Longview, but the $20M for community benefits—set aside for a local nonprofit—remains under review after federal funding was frozen by an executive order. Local officials remain confident the main grant will be restored even though future decisions may change how community funds are provided. Longview News-Journal

- ➤ West Rusk FFA earned top honors at five major Texas livestock shows including the State Fair, Fort Worth, San Antonio, San Angelo and Houston—junior Emily Bynum secured her fifth banner with a Grand Champion Hampshire Ewe win and Maxx Curry was elected to the Longview District FFA Officer Team.
