  • First United Methodist Church in downtown Longview will celebrate its $2.4 million expansion with a church picnic and celebration service at noon Sunday following the morning worship service. The project added a new multi-purpose pavilion with retractable basketball goals and pickleball courts and improved entrances and parking — a debt-free effort supported by the Johnson Foundation — and will also host the annual Easter sunrise service.  Longview News-Journal

  • The Cow Hill Cat Club will host a cat show on April 5-6 where cat enthusiasts gather to display various breeds and their unique personalities.  City of Longview

  • The Longview PRCA Rodeo will be held April 11-12 at the Longview Rodeo Arena and is hosted by the Longview Greggton Rotary Club — gates open 5:30 p.m. nightly with the event starting at 7:30 p.m. and featuring bareback riding, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down calf roping, barrel racing, raffles and children’s events.  City of Longview
