- ➤ Longview Regional Medical Center hosts its fourth annual Jars of Love peanut butter drive to help Longview Community Ministries fight hunger, aiming to collect 4,000 jars and running through March 30. - ➤ Four East Texas teams will compete at the UIL Boys Basketball State Championships at the Alamodome in San Antonio from today through Saturday. - ➤ Mason Barnes pitched a perfect game on Tuesday for Spring Hill in a 6-0 win at Henderson — he struck out 15 over seven innings, boosting his team to 2-0 in district play; Spring Hill will visit Henderson on Friday. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Overton Lady Mustangs swept the series with a five-inning, 16-5 run rule win over the Lady Jackets on Wednesday, March 11 in Elysian Fields—Kelsey Vaught led the team with three hits. Kilgore News Herald
- ➤ The Hudson Hornets beat the Longview Lobos 3 to 2 at Lobo Field on Tuesday by scoring three runs in the third inning while Booker pitched seven strong innings with no earned runs. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Connor Cox, a Longview High graduate playing for St. Edward’s, was named Lone Star Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week after hitting .667 with three doubles, a triple and eight RBI over a four-game series last weekend—his strong play helped extend a six-game winning streak.
