Big Daddy will host his Eighth Annual Birthday Walk at the Dudley Road Trailhead (1701 Dudley Road) in Kilgore on Saturday, Feb.
28, from 7-11 a.m. to raise food for the Kilgore College Food Pantry; participants may drop off nonperishable items and join the walk with a birthday hug.

On Saturday, more than 150 community members toured AAON’s plant in Longview to learn about split air conditioning units and data center components.
The facility, which now employs roughly 1,550+ people, is set to grow to nearly 2,000 by the end of March.
🏛️ Government
Longview was named a Veteran-Friendly Community by the East Texas Council of Governments on Sunday, Feb.
22. The designation honors city government and local groups that offer veterans support with jobs, housing, health care, and community programs (including the We Hire Vets effort).
🏈 Sports
Local softball teams played Thursday with strong performances from numerous schools across the region.
The Lady Panthers, Ladycats and others won close contests in Spring Hill, Hallsville plus several nearby communities, showcasing solid hitting and pitching that energized local fans.
