- ➤ Local restaurateur Ardian Marevci will open a high-end martini bar next to Roma’s shortly and launch Liberty Steakhouse later this year after major repairs. - ➤ Walk Your Plans — a new business in Whitehouse — offers an interactive walkthrough of home floorplans so homeowners, builders, and architects can see a full-scale projection before building. - ➤ The Lady Lobos were ranked No. 15 in the TGCA soccer league standings released Monday, Jan. 12 — the rankings list teams from Classes 4A, 5A, and 6A. Local fans can track the season as teams compete across the region. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ LeTourneau men's basketball won 95-89 in overtime at Kimbrell Arena Sunday afternoon with Jackson Mayes scoring 30, marking consecutive overtime wins. The women's team lost 82-49 to McMurry in a challenging contest on the same day. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ On Saturday at Masters Gymnasium, the No. 20 ranked KC men defeated Coastal Bend 96-81, while the Lady Rangers lost to Blinn — both teams will play road games Wednesday before hosting a home doubleheader Saturday. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Local soccer teams shined as Pine Tree MudDogs won 1-0 against Cumberland Academy at the Pine Tree Invitational and the Lady Lobos posted a 4-0 win over Mesquite to finish perfectly. Pine Tree will head to Ft Worth ISD — the Lobos will play at Rockwall Heath Invitational soon. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ Region XIV conference standings show closely matched teams ahead of upcoming games. Men's teams including Kilgore at Tyler on Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. and women's squads scheduled for Jan. 14 and Jan. 17 face local rivals in regional match-ups. Longview News-Journal
- ➤ The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches ranked Spring Hill at No. 16 in Girls Class 4A high school basketball in its weekly poll released Monday, Jan. 12. The list also featured top teams such as Austin Westlake & Lancaster. Longview News-Journal
